Revealing quiet patterns across nature and culture through contemplative, detail‑driven photography.
Nature Photography
I often zoom in with my camera to observe nature’s elegant designs up close, the same way I do as a research biologist when peering through a microscope to view my specimens. This meditative process allows me to focus and drown out the surrounding noise, leaving me in a quiet state of heightened awareness.
It amazes me how everything is created from the smallest particles in the universe and molded by natural forces. Even consciousness and imagination arise from these unique workings. This selection of photographs reflects my contemplation of nature, aiming to elicit curiosity and wonder.
Cultural Photography
I bring the same close, attentive way of seeing to human environments. By focusing on small details rather than the larger scene, these photographs observe how culture is expressed through materials, patterns, and the traces of daily use. This work reflects my interest in how human-made structures evolve over time, revealing the relationship between people and the places they inhabit.
Documentary & Environmental Photography
In my documentary work, I step back and take a more expansive view to observe how people move through and shape their environments. These photographs focus on the structures, patterns, and daily activity that define human ecosystems, from urban spaces to cultural landscapes. Rather than isolating details, this work looks at how individual stories unfold within the broader physical context of the places people build and inhabit.
